Chasco Sacco was founded in the year 2012 as a project of Changoi Out-growers Self Help Group. The core membership of the parent organization (Williamson Tea (k) Ltd- Changoi ) formed the founding membership of Chasco Sacco. Members were then encouraged to have part of their tea proceeds deducted by Williamson Tea (k) Ltd and remitted to the Sacco as contribution to both share capital, savings, and loan repayments. The Sacco focuses on providing financial services to its members, including lending and other financial products and services. It is also involved in developing and executing the Sacco's vision and mission, overseeing operations, and ensuring the efficient running of all areas of the Sacco's operations, including lending, deposits, and investments.
Since its establishment, Chasco Sacco has demonstrated significant growth and resilience, particularly noted in membership expansion, financial performance, asset growth, loans disbursement and governance. The SACCO’S strategic goal is to continue in this trajectory, enhancing our operational capabilities, member services, and financial health, all aimed towards achieving a strong membership base.
